How long does a felony stay on your record?

I have been sentenced to spend May 1st thru 3rd in custody downtown. I have several medications that I take daily. How is that handled? Do I bring my prescription bottles with me? I am hesitant to do that because one of them is highly addictive and if they are lost or stolen I will be in deep trouble because I cannot get a new prescription until it is time.
